Seasonal Flu Vaccination Clinics

In Light of the risk of flu and COVID-19 co-circulating this winter, the national flu programme will be essential to protecting, vulnerable people and supporting the resilience of the Health and Care system. There will be an expansion to the flu programme this year meaning more people will be eligible to receive the free vaccine for the first time but may not realise. Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier. Due to Covid-19 how we run the Flu Clinics will be very different this year. We are no longer able to offer a drop in clinic it will be appointments only. Patients that have long term health conditions or classed as high risk will be targeted first for an appointment in the the above clinics. Letters, Text reminders will be sent to those patients. For those patients booked in for an appointment it is important that they follow Covid- 19 social distancing guideline and wear a face covering if possible. Please do not arrive for the appointment early please only come a few minutes prior to the appointment time. Once entering the practice please ensure that you have taken off your coat/jacket and rolled up your sleeve ready and follow the one way system.
